Kids Karate Lessons

Our kids karate lessons program is for students between the ages of 5 and 12 that want to learn a new skill, build confidence, develop discipline and improve their fitness through Karate. This program is designed for kids who have none, or very little, past martial arts experience. With a built-in system of goals (belts), students become motivated on improving and progressing through the ranks. This is an ideal program for kids that looking to improve their fitness and co-ordination for other sports, have a history of losing interest in activities, or struggle with focusing on a single task due to boredom or other challenges such as ADD and ADHD.

Looking to help your child develop discipline?

You can’t be successful without discipline which is why we help develop the habits and routines of a disciplined person.

Success is a habit. We help build that habit.

Building good habits is a key part of success. Habits like focus and discipline enable children to push themselves to improve in all aspects of their life including home, school and sports. Our kids karate program encourages the development of healthy physical and mental habits through exercise, having a positive mindset and overcoming challenges.

Want to see your child more confident?

Becoming confident means learning how to face adversity which is why we provide challenges and teach the tools to use to overcome them.

There’s a recipe for building confidence and we have it.

For nearly two decades we’ve taught children that achieving goals leads to confidence and it takes discipline and focus to achieve them. As students progress through the ranks, in a fun and supportive environment, we challenge them with gradually larger goals and teach them the tools to use to reach those goals. Over time, we see our student’s stand taller, speak firmer and watch their confidence grow.

Want to get your child off the couch and away from video games?

Being fit and healthy is an important part of being disciplined and confident which is why in each class, we’re challenging them not just mentally, but physically as well.

We develop mind and BODY.

Physical activity is vital for a child’s development and lays the foundation for a happy and healthy lifestyle. Students in our program see amazing physical improvements as we help them make being active a regular part of their lives. By providing them with fun and challenging physical goals, students make being physically active a regular part of their life.

+What happens in class?

Each class beings with a warm-up where we’ll help students develop co-ordination, build strength and improving overall fitness through a variety of exercises, movement and footwork drills. After warm-up we’ll move on to helping students build a strong foundation by practicing basic movements and patterns, teach self-defense skills that students can use to stay safe, learn traditional Japanese patterns and build a great sweat through a total body workout. Initially, students are learning fundamental movement skills (that can transfer to all sports) and basic karate skills.

New students will begin with a FREE trial class where they’ll learn about what they’ll be doing in class and practice some basic karate movements.
