Amazing at what they do. My son had some behaviour problems at the age of 3 and they definitely helped straighten him up a little and listen.

My 2 boys (aged 7 & 9) have been going to AFMA for 9 months now. It's been a wonderful experience and as per all the other reviews. Teachers are great, kind, passionate, etc. etc., kids have fun/enjoy and are being kept physical/healthy. BUT what I want to highlight is that the sensei's (aka teachers) are not afraid to discipline. I love this because as a parent with kids in a few different extra-curricular activities, it's refreshing to see that the sensei's are willing to "train"/discipline the kids. Many other extra-curricular "teachers" be it a math tutor, swimming instructor, piano teacher or even regular school teachers are all afraid to discipline or assert authority over the kids because it's somewhat unacceptable in society. In my personal opinion; you need the authority and discipline or else kids feel that they can get away with things; especially because everywhere else they don't get repercussions for "acting out". So thank you sensei Mike and Eric and AFMA for actually training/disciplining my kids.

I enjoy watching my grandson learn the basics of karate. All the instructors do a great job teaching the kids. They are kind and compassionate. I especially love it when they play “Simon says” as I find it is a fun teaching game.

Really a first class school for kids and adults highly recommend this school for anyone looking!!!

Joining this karate studio has been one of the best decisions my family has made! My kids, who are 5 and 7, and I all joined together, and it has been an incredible experience from day one. The studio has helped us learn important values like discipline, focus, and perseverance, all while making sure we’re having fun. From the moment I first inquired with Kim, the experience was nothing short of welcoming. Kim gave us the best first impression and made us feel confident about starting this journey. After the initial trial, it was quickly clear that all the instructors (sensais) are highly skilled teachers. They not only teach karate but also truly care about every student’s personal growth and enjoyment. This experience has been eye-opening for me. As a mother and business owner, I’m happy that I am finally making time for myself and being challenged. I always look forward to my karate classes in the mornings with Mike!! He is what makes this studio so great; his leadership, dedication and passion truly shows. Feeling very blessed to be a part of the AFMA family. AFMA started as a way to help our kids develop confidence while building fitness. We had trained at a few other martial arts schools at different times, but the atmosphere and instructors at AFMA are on a completely different level. The mix of martial arts training, discipline, and fun is perfectly balanced while adjusted to each age group and/or belt level class. Our family has experienced this from the ninja tot classes all the way through to the adult classes. What began as a simple couple of class a week has quickly grown into an aspect of our daily lives as each member of our family quickly began training. The incredible growth in confidence in my daughter has been phenomenal. She has been so inspired by the staff, especially the girls, that she now hopes to one day be on staff and act as a role model like them. Her younger brother has grown in his ability to focus and work on a task beginning in their ninja tot program and now in their junior program. The staff of AFMA truly embody the student creed and black belt principles recited each class and clearly displayed across schools front wall. I would highly encourage anyone thinking about martial arts training for their kids or themselves to come out and give AFMA a try!

Attending Aurora Family Martial Arts has been an incredible journey for my son, Kyle. The instructors are very passionate, dedicated, knowledgeable, attentive, and create a supportive environment that fosters growth. They go out of their way to make the kids feel cared for, respected, and like part of a team. The programming and facility are fantastic.
