I don’t think I can do it.
We’ve all hit an obstacle at one point in our lives where we think “I can’t overcome this! I don’t think I can do it!”
A friend of mine owns a school and it’s amazing. The school is so full of positive vibes that it’s impossible not to feel amazing when you’re there. One day she told me a story about an experience that she had with one of her competitors and the advice she gave them and I knew that I had to share it with you.
Her competitor was facing a much more experienced opponent in a tournament and they thought they were doomed. They finished the first round of their match and they were behind in points. During the first break between rounds, the competitor said “I don’t think I can do it! They’re so much better than me.” It was at that time, my friend said something that really stuck with me and it was…
When you can’t, you MUST.
What a great thought. No matter how big the challenge is when you can’t, you must. If you’re going to grow, learn, improve or overcome, you MUST. There are no other options because if you don’t…you won’t.
This week, inevitably, you’re going to come up against some challenge. It may be a new technique, a mindset, an opponent or something else that you have never faced before but if you want to overcome it, then you need to face it and tackle it head-on.
Now, the process may not go smoothly and it may take time, but that’s alright. That’s part of the MUST, so be patient with yourself but whatever you do, don’t quit!
See you on the mats,
