Believe in yourself. I do!
If you believe in yourself, anything is possible. It’s optimistic and hopeful, but I believe it to be true.
I was speaking with a student this week, and we were talking about them achieving their Black Belt. As we spoke, I got the feeling that they didn’t have a lot of faith in themself. They really questioned whether or not they’d be able to achieve their goal, and that broke my heart a bit.
I have this belief, and this week’s message of the week revolves around it. I believe that if someone else has achieved something, then as long as I’m willing to put in the time and effort, there is no reason that I can’t! Like I said, it’s optimistic and hopeful, but I believe it wholeheartedly.
This week’s message of the week is…
If you believe in yourself, anything is possible.
I look at a lot of things this way. I believe that there is no reason why we can’t have one of the greatest dojos around and as long as we’re willing to put in the work. When I first started training, I thought like this. I remember thinking that as long as I was willing to work harder, longer than my fellow partners, there was no reason why I couldn’t become really good. School, work, hobbies…I think of all these things this way.
This week, as you go through the week, whenever you start to question whether or not you can achieve a goal, look at all the other people that have achieved it. Imagine all the work they put in and all the challenges that they overcame and when you do that, you’ll see that you’re just as capable.
I believe in you, I hope that you believe in you too!
See you in class,
Michael
